Warburg Pincus appoints Fred Hassan as new senior adviser

US private equity firm Warburg Pincus has appointed Fred Hassan as a new senior adviser. Hassan previously worked as chairman and CEO of Schering-Plough Corporation, a division of pharmaceutical giant Merck & Co Inc.
